I like Cam Fowler and what he brings to the table, but Garth overhypes him... prime example being that the Ducks didn't miss him while a rookie (albeit a good prospect) stepped into his role. Actually, the Ducks did better without him. So is Fowler protected by all of that talent around him in Anaheim? I would understand a straight up Girgensons for Fowler deal, but in my own very humble opinion... even that deal would come back to bite the Sabres in the behind down the road. I was not happy with Girgensons last season, but the kid showed his promise the season prior under Nolan. His effort level is off the charts and he is one the Sabres' best skaters. Personally, I would rather the Sabres draft Sergachev at #8 and sign Brian Campbell to a 2-year deal to QB the PP and work alongside Ristolainen. Also, Okposo is probably a more likely scenario than Stamkos... but I will hold on to hope until it proves true or false on July 1. |
